Web browsers provide various functions for bookmarking sites, marking them as favorites and so on, but they are not very efficient when it comes to organizing marked web sites. Even with popular browsers, like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, you have to browse through your bookmarks in a series of sub-menus, which is not very comfortable. If you want to properly organize your web sites, you should try MyFavorites Collection. It allows you to manage bookmarks, favorites and RSS feeds and it is capable of importing data from your web browser.

The application is free and it doesn't need to be installed. You just need to extract its files from a small archive and run the software's executable. It is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and it does not require powerful hardware.

MyFavorites Collection provides a clean and simple user interface, with easy to understand functions. Folders and sub-folders can be created on the left side of the window and you may populate them with contents, on the right side. If you want to add a new web site, in one of your folders, you just need to provide its address. Sites are displayed in a list, along with a few details, like registration date, last view date and others.

If you hover with the mouse cursor over a site's entry, a preview of its home page will appear on a floating window. Clicking this window will display a snapshot of the entire page, on a separate window. You can also visit the web site itself, on your default web browser, by double clicking the site's entry. When creating a new folder, a small window will show up, on which you can name your folder, type a description and select an icon. Additionally, you can register the folder as an RSS feeds folder. If you select this option, you will need to type or paste a feed's URL, on the same window.

You may click a small button, in the upper right area of the interface, to bring up additional options, on a small window. You can use them to import a web browser's cache, its bookmarks or to perform certain actions on saved items. Marked web sites can be updated manually or automatically. If a web site is updated, you will find it in the Updated folder, on the same interface.

Pros

You can organize web sites, bookmarks and RSS feeds in separate folders. The software can import bookmarks and other items from web browsers. It provides snapshots of home pages and it allows you to access web sites instantly.

Cons

You have to wait for a few seconds when you start or close the software. MyFavorites Collection gives you the possibility of organizing your favorite web sites and other items, just like files on your hard drive.
